I remember the day that I started school
They laughed at me and thought me a fool
I understood the teasing which I couldn't stand
And all because I wrote with my left hand
But as time went along I seemed very smart
Given a math problem, I saw the hard part
I seemed to have some special insight
When we did math, I always got it right
My friends would say, "How'd you do that?"
I laughed, "I'm a magician, I pulled it out of my hat"
They stared and said "we don't understand"
I said "that's because you use the wrong hand"
Resentment soon spread as I did excel
They asked me how but I couldn't tell
All I could say was "I see it in my head"
While you have to think and think instead
When I grew up I saw who I was
I had special insight and this was because
God made me that way and he had a reason
He knew we would need a man for all seasons
So men like me have accomplished great things
A spark of hope to mankind we bring
But it comes at a price as all things do
We are often resented by people like you
